Reflect These artifacts, The National Defense Education Act 1958 Inspiration and Weather Inspiration, represent the INTASC Standard 6.D.K.This standard is all about communication and this project shows that I am capable of using different media to communicate a subject area or lesson to a class.It is important with the growing advances in technology and the wide variety of technology available to the everyday person that we expose children to the wide range of technology out there, but how can we as teachers begin to show children the different technologies if we ourselves cannot use it. That is why I chose these inspiration projects.They both show how the computer can give a teacher an outlet to create a more visual and stimulating lesson or part of a lesson and it is something that they can use as well.
Project This artifact greatly expresses my future practice in the classroom. With my future classes I want to use a variety of media and teach them to use them too. Inspirations are great for brainstorming for projects or paper or even if they wanted to present a topic to class. It helps those who are visual and even those who might not have terrific verbal abilities. Inspiration and other programs would be great for the ESL or ELL in my classroom. And not only do these new programs and technologies help second language learners and those with a disability but they also just motivate the students. It is a whole lot more fun to get to brainstorm and organize your ideas on an interactive program with graphics than just sitting at your desk and writing, which is important, but why can they not do both.Use the programs and technology to spark interest where there is none.
